Warrington pub assault victim dies in hospital

A man has died after a serious assault outside a Warrington pub, police said.

David Brown, 33, from Warrington, was taken to Walton Hospital after the attack outside Chevys on Manchester Road on Friday.

He died on Sunday, police said. John Lowe, 46, of Marsh House Lane, Warrington, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

Appearing before magistrates in Runcorn earlier, he was remanded in custody to reappear on 20 August.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
