A man and woman from Brighton arrested by police investigating the murder of a scaffolder have been told no further action will be taken against them.

Xhem Krasniqi, 31, an Albanian national living in Kent, died in hospital from a single bullet wound after being shot in Hove on 18 May.

The man, 34, had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder after he flew into Gatwick Airport on 26 May.

The woman, aged 32, had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both were bailed pending further inquiries but Sussex Police said they had now been stood down.

Mr Krasniqi was shot while he was out walking with his brother and nephew in Church Road.

Edmund Nela, 31, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm, and remanded in custody by Lewes Crown Court.
