Culture Partnership to 'make more' of the North East

18 July 2013 Last updated at 13:17 BST

Twelve local authorities have joined forces to make the most of the "fantastic" arts and culture in the north-east of England.

The Culture Partnership, which includes all 12 North East councils and representatives from the arts and business sectors, hopes by working together they can "make more" of what the region has to offer.

The cultural industry in the North East brings in 1m visitors and £7m to the local economy each year.

Sunderland-born broadcaster Lauren Laverne was among those at the launch.
