A man and woman from Brighton arrested by police investigating the murder of a scaffolder have been freed on bail.

Xhem Krasniqi, 31, an Albanian national living in Kent died in hospital from a single bullet wound after being shot in Hove on 18 May.

The 34-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder after he flew into Gatwick Airport on Sunday, has been bailed until 22 July.

The woman, aged 32, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

She has also been bailed until 22 July pending further inquiries.

Mr Krasniqi was with his brother and nephew when all three were shot at in Church Road. The other two men were not hit.

Sussex Police believe the incident followed a dispute between two Albanian families.
