Wanted Surrey man hands himself to Chinese authorities

A Surrey man wanted in connection with sexual offences committed between 2000 and 2002 has handed himself in to the authorities in China.

Neil Robinson, 47, from Staines, is accused of being involved in the distribution of indecent images of children and the rape of a child.

An appeal was broadcast on the BBC's Crimewatch programme in September 2012.

Mr Robinson, who has links with Sussex, handed himself in to authorities in Beijing in the early hours of Friday.

Surrey Police said they are now liaising with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Chinese authorities over Mr Robinson's return to the UK.
