Two men killed in separate incidents on A3 named

Two people who died in separate incidents on the same stretch of the A3 in Surrey have been named.

Brian Self, 77, from Epsom, fell from a footbridge on Clayton Road, Long Ditton, on to the northbound carriageway at 09:35 GMT on Thursday.

Half an hour later, Rajesh Parkesh, 43, from Ascot, Berkshire, died when his motorcycle hit an ambulance parked partly on the central reservation.

Mr Self's death is being treated as non-suspicions, Surrey Police said.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

The London Ambulance Service vehicle had been sent to the first incident, when Dr Parkesh's motorcycle collided with it as it was parked partly on the central reservation and the A3 carriageway.
