A 61-year-old man whose disappearance in North Yorkshire sparked a major search has been found, according to police.

Alan McLean was last seen on Sunday leaving a hotel in Robin Hood's Bay on the North Yorkshire coast.

Police, the RAF and the Humber Coastguard conducted a search operation along the Cleveland Way walking path.

North Yorkshire Police said he turned up at a police station in Huddersfield on Monday.

Earlier, coastguard teams from Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Ravenscar had joined Scarborough Mountain Rescue Team, the police and a Sea King search and rescue helicopter from RAF Leconfield in an attempt find Mr McLean.
