Lorry crashes into Luton car showroom

Castle Street crash Motorists were advised to avoid the Castle Street area

A lorry carrying gas cylinders has crashed into a car showroom in Luton town centre.

Police had to divert traffic away from the scene in Castle Street after the incident which happened late on Thursday morning.

No injuries were reported but the road was closed for engineers to carry out a structural survey of the damaged building.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area while the lorry was recovered.
