A Canadian company has discovered an oil field near Hull

A Canadian company has begun exploring an oil field between Bishop Burton and Walkington, just north of Hull.

Rathlin Energy previously carried out studies in the region looking for gas and oil.

Dr Nick Riley, team leader of Unconventional Gas at the British Geological Survey, told BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast about oil exploration in the North of England.
