1953 floods: How protected are we 60 years on?

Could the east coast's sea defences withstand a repeat of the devastating floods of 1953?

Sixty years ago a wall of water up to 18ft (5.8m) high devastated low-lying areas of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, killing for than 300 people.

Experts believe is it not a question of if but when a similar storm surge will strike the east coast.
