West Midlands Police officer denies four rape charges

A West Midlands Police officer has pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape and two of assault.

PC Mandeep Uppal, 32, who is based at Wolverhampton police station, has been suspended pending the outcome of the court case.

He was released on bail by Warwick Crown Court.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We can confirm that the defendant is a serving police constable based at Wolverhampton Police station."
