Engine tests for Vulcan bomber's final season

The last flying Vulcan bomber has been undergoing engine tests to prepare for what is set to be its last year in the skies.

The Cold War plane once carried nuclear weapons but now performs for crowds at air shows. It is to be grounded later this year.

The tests, which use up 7,000 litres of high grade aviation fuel costing £5,000, were carried out at Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport, where the aircraft is based.
