Crewe man dies after stabbing attack

A man has died after being stabbed in an attack in Crewe.

The assault happened on Wistaston Road at about 19:25 GMT on Friday. The victim was taken to hospital but died on Saturday afternoon, police said.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said the family of the 26-year-old, who lived locally, was aware.

The spokeswoman added that two local men in their 20s had been arrested on Friday and are "continuing to help police with their enquiries".

Wistaston Road was temporarily closed to help police with their investigation.

An appeal for witnesses has been made.
