River bed searched in Jordan Cobb hunt
Jordan was with friends on the ferry
Police and coastguards have searched a river bed around a ferry for the body of a teenager.
Jordan Cobb, 16, from Plymouth, leapt from the Torpoint ferry into the River Tamar between Devon and Cornwall late on New Year's Eve.
A 50-strong search team of coastguards, the RNLI and police have been searching the shoreline and Plymouth Sound since he disappeared.
The search would resume on Saturday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
Tide considerationsPeople were urged to stay away from the shore for their own safety.
Police said people had been out on the river and although officers "understand their willingness to help, it is not a safe environment and could hamper the co-ordinated search".
Official searches were being carried out taking weather and tides into consideration, the force said.
Officers were due to return on Saturday morning and carry out further searches on the foreshore, it added.
Police said it was believed Jordan, a year 11 student at Stoke Damerel Community College, had been with a group of friends as the ferry was approaching Torpoint when he jumped.
