Bridgnorth man arrested over fatal lake crash

A Shropshire man has been arrested after a teenager died in August when the car he was in went into a lake.

Ben Henshaw, 16, from Alveley, Shropshire, was found in the Great Pool in Burnhill Green, Staffordshire, after a Peugeot 206 left Patshull Road.

Staffordshire Police said a 19-year-old Bridgnorth man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

At the time of the incident on 6 August, an 18-year-old man who was driving the car and a 15-year-old girl managed to get out of the water.

No other vehicles were involved, police said.
