Sandbag barrier to protect Welney from floods

A temporary barrier of one-tonne sandbags has been built to protect village in the Fens from flooding.

The Ouse Washes on the Cambridgeshire border with Norfolk are at a near record high so the barrier is likely to remain in place for several weeks until water levels recede.
