Woman in her 70s dies after crash on A47 in Norfolk

A woman in her 70s has died after a crash on the A47 in Norfolk.

The crash, involving two vehicles heading in opposite directions, happened at the Wendling turn off between Little Fransham and Dereham.

The road was shut and diversions were put in place, while police, fire and ambulance crews helped the victims. The air ambulance was also called in.

A woman passenger in one of the cars died at the scene and the driver, also in his 70s, was seriously injured.

The woman driver of the other vehicle, believed to be aged in her late 60s, has numerous broken bones and internal bleeding, police said.

Police would like to hear from anyone who believes they may have see either vehicle before the crash or witnessed it.
