Rough Guide: Margate 'one of world's top destinations'
Margate in Kent is one of the top 10 destinations in the world, according to the new Rough Guide Travel Hot List for 2013.
The seaside town has been ranked alongside north-east Iceland, Puerto Rico and the Unesco World Heritage Site of Dubrovnik in Croatia.
The guide says the town offers cute cafes, vintage shops and a new Turner art gallery.
However, the inclusion of Margate has raised a few eyebrows, as Clare Burton reports.
