Kazenga Lua Lua affray retrial delay for play-offs

The retrial of an ex-Premier League footballer accused of fighting outside a nightclub has been delayed so he does not miss matches.

Kazenga Lua Lua, who now plays for Brighton, was tried for affray with two other men who were cleared.

The jury at Newcastle Crown Court was unable to reach a verdict in the case of the 22-year-old player.

Now the court has agreed to put off the case until 17 June in case Brighton reach the Championship play-offs.

Mr Lua Lua is accused of being disorderly outside the Riverside club on Newcastle's Quayside in June last year.
