Cancer patients helped out of debt trap
Cancer patients are finding themselves facing growing debt problems. Loss of income, increased bills and travel costs all take their toll.
Sharon Fox from Tamworth was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago and underwent a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and reconstructive surgery.
She estimates that during the illness her family income dropped by £40,000.
Now in remission and working again, she has set up the Sharon Fox Cancer Care Centre in Tamworth which provides support for cancer patients as well as money and benefits advice.
BBC Inside Out is broadcast on BBC One West Midlands on Monday, 10 December at 19:30 GMT and nationwide on the iPlayer thereafter for seven days.
