Youth worker Sam Oldroyd named Community Hero

A man who runs a drop-in centre for young people in a South Yorkshire community has been honoured at the 2012 Yorkshire Awards.

Sam Oldroyd set up JADE, which trains young people in dance, music production and DJ skills, in Kiveton Park.

The organisation works with more than 150 young people each week.

Mr Oldroyd picked up the Community Hero award at the annual ceremony in Leeds.
