Reptile traders under scrutiny from animal campaigners

There are around one million pet reptiles and amphibians in the UK.

Many pet enthusiasts get together to show, buy and sell animals at reptile fairs around the UK.

But reptile traders have come under increasing scrutiny from animal campaigners who want to shut down animal shows and stop reptiles being traded as pets.

Some campaigners claim reptile shows are cruel and even illegal. Reptile owners disagree and want the government to clarify the law and introduce licensing.
