One-eyed raccoon seeks new home
A wildlife rescue centre in Kent is looking for a new home for Rocky - a raccoon found injured and distressed in a shed at the Scientology UK headquarters in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
Staff there originally thought she was a badger and called in appropriate experts. Jeff Hayden, of the Badger Trust in Sussex, said Rocky was scowling and hissing and the rescue was far from easy.
Rocky is now being cared for at Folly Wildlife Rescue, near Tunbridge Wells, where staff are hoping she can be found a new home.
Annette Risely said Rocky was very clever and was able to open her cage door until staff padlocked it.
