Clergy show off catwalk fashions in Trafford

Members of the clergy from across the North West of England have taken to the catwalk to show off the latest in church fashion at an event in Greater Manchester.

The Christian Resources Exhibition North at EventCity in Trafford is a two-day show which organisers said supplies "whatever you need to equip and resource your church".

Part of the first day's programme was Clergy on the Catwalk, a special presentation of ecclesiastical clothing from leading designers like Juliet Hemingray, Hayes and Finch, Cross Designs and J&M Sewing.

One of those modelling the new parish fashions was the Reverend Janice Collier, team rector of South Widnes, who said it was a chance to show how the clergy could wear outfits that were "traditional and modern and funky".

Hayes and Finch's Andrew Ware said designers had had to "move with the times because there is a lot of female clergy who want nice clothing".
