West Midlands Police sergeant in social media probe

West Midlands Police says it is investigating one of its sergeants over the alleged "misuse of social media".

The force said the officer concerned, who has not been named, had not been suspended and any breaches of its policy were taken "extremely seriously".

It has released no further details about the alleged incident.

The force said a detective chief inspector had been appointed to lead the inquiry.
