Help

Hundreds of well wishers turned out to welcome the Paralympic flame's arrival to Exchange Square in Manchester for the start of its tour of the north west.

There are six in total travelling across the region.

Swimmer Lizzie Simpkin, a Beijing paralympian, is the flame ambassador for the Knowsley flame.

Dave Watson, from the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, carried the Olympic flame in June. He is carrying a flame to Preston and said this was even better.
