'Trips, bumps, falls'

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "It's been a steady start for the staff and volunteers since the gates opened to campers on Friday.

"Fortunately, the vast majority of cases were minor injuries, including trips, bumps and falls."

Supt Dave Holdway, from Staffordshire Police, said they had made some arrests.

"We've had a couple of assaults and only two or three thefts at the moment, so, so far so good," he said.

The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and The Killers are among headline acts.

Paramedics at Weston Park will this year use an all-terrain vehicle to reach anyone requiring medical help.
