London 2012 Olympics inspires young East Midlands athletes

Young athletes from the East Midlands say the London 2012 Olympics has made them more determined to succeed in the coming years.

Tennis player Katy Wilson, 16, from Nottingham, is the county's number one at under 16s and one of Britain's top young tennis hopefuls despite having cystic fibrosis.

She said the games has "made me try harder and get better" in the hope of one day winning a gold medal like Andy Murray.

Derby trainee boxer Sabrina Wickens said she has now been inspired to push her limits further to succeed.

Shay Bradley, 11, a Derbyshire county swimmer, said his aim is to win a gold medal at the Olympics in 2016 or 2020.
