Henry Moore: Two men deny sculpture theft

Henry Moore's Sundial sculpture was taken from the grounds of his former home

Two men have pleaded not guilty to the theft of a bronze sculpture by Henry Moore and a bronze plinth, both stolen from The Henry Moore Foundation in Hertfordshire earlier this month.

Liam Hughes, 22, and Jason Parker, 19, both of Coltsfield in Stansted, Essex, appeared before Stevenage magistrates.

They are due before magistrates on 28 September where the case is expected to be sent to crown court for trial.

A 22-year-old man who was also arrested was released without charge.

The sundial sculpture, valued at up to £500,000, and the plinth were taken from the grounds of the foundation museum in Much Hadham.

They were recovered by Hertfordshire Police following an appeal on BBC One's Crimewatch programme.
