Parachutist in fatal Cockerham jump named by police
A parachutist who died when he landed in a field in Lancashire has been named by police.
Father-of-three Lee Clifford, 40, from St Helens, Merseyside, died in Cockerham, near Lancaster, at 13:50 BST on Saturday.
A joint investigation into what happened is being carried out by Lancashire Constabulary and the British Parachute Association.
An eyewitness said Mr Clifford's chute appeared to become tangled.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
