Car races keeping pupils on track

Help

A total of 1,000 schoolchildren are in Cornwall to take part in electric car races to get them interested in engineering and science.

The kit cars have been built and decorated by pupils from the county, and from Devon and Somerset, forming nearly 80 teams.

Heats earlier saw nine to 11-year-olds driving on the runaway at Newquay Cornwall Airport.
