London 2012: Olympic torch relay to return to East Midlands

Help

The Olympic torch relay is to return to the East Midlands next week.

A rehearsal was held in Leicestershire on 20 April, which Tracy Croft, East Midlands 2012 co-ordinator, said helped the organisers to understand how the planned "logistical challenges" of the day would work in reality.

The torch arrives in Lincolnshire on 27 June before travelling to Nottinghamshire the next day for an overnight stop and Derbyshire on 29 June.

Leicestershire welcomes the relay on 2 July for an evening of celebrations before it heads to Lincolnshire again the next day and makes its way to Rutland.
