Alcohol-related admissions to Yorkshire hospitals rise

Alcohol abuse is putting an increasing strain on hospitals in Yorkshire, according to new NHS figures.

The figures show that Yorkshire and the Humber has seen a 13.5% increase in alcohol-related admissions since 2009/10.

Numbers rose from 105,500 in 2009/10 to 119,700 in 2010/11.
