Olympic torch: Roman Legion leads escort in Chester

Help

Members of Chester's Roman Legion have described their preparation for one of their biggest tasks to date - to act as an escort for the Olympic torch.

The soldiers, who carry 68lb of armour, were selected in recognition of the city's historic links to the Roman Empire.

Chester's Roman Amphitheatre is believed to be the largest in the UK and is thought to date back to the 1st Century.

The flame arrived in Chester earlier after finishing its tour of Wales.
