South East's residents vote in the council elections

In the South East voters went to the polls on Thursday to elect members of their local councils.

The Conservative leader of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council was unseated by a UKIP candidate, by 46 votes.

Labour retained control of Hastings and gained seats, while the Lib Dems lost their only seat in the borough to Labour.

Two candidates seeking election to Runnymede Borough Council were forced to draw lots after their votes were declared a tie.
