Son 'shocked' about robbery suspect Eddie Maher's identity
The son of a former security guard, suspected of a £1m theft in Suffolk 19 years ago, may not have known his true background.
Eddie Maher, 56, originally from Chelmsford, Essex, was arrested in Ozark, Missouri.
He vanished in January 1993 after the security van theft outside Lloyds Bank in Hamilton Road, Felixstowe.
A local journalist said that when he interviewed Mr Maher's son Lee, he'd only just learned he was not a US citizen.
