Chris Watson's sound of the wild
Chris Watson is the natural history sound recordist on some of the most famous wildlife shows on television including David Attenborough's Frozen Planet.
Born in Sheffield he was a founder member of experimental electronic music band Cabaret Voltaire.
He then moved into television as a sound recordist at Tyne Tees Television and settled in Newcastle where he lives today.
For the last few years Chris has been working on nature programmes where he gets up close to some of the wildest animals on the planet.
He talks about what it is like to capture the contented purr of a cheetah in Kenya's Masai Mara.
Inside Out is on Monday 30, January at 19:30 on BBC One North East and Cumbria and Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It can also be seen nationwide on the iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
