M50 reopens after crash gas leak

A section of motorway has been reopened after a crash involving a car powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The M50 is open to traffic in both directions after the collision, between junctions one and two.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue said it was called to the scene at about 08:30 GMT.

Nobody was injured, but both carriageways of the motorway were closed to allow crews to deal with a "significant" LPG leak.

The fire service said it used water jets to help disperse LPG after a fuel tank on a 4x4 was ruptured in a crash with another vehicle.
