Lorry driver dies after M6 crash in Cheshire

A lorry driver has died following a crash involving two HGV's on the M6 in Cheshire.

The man was driving a foreign registered vehicle which was involved in a collision with another HGV at about 17:30 GMT.

One HGV jack-knifed across the motorway while the second came to rest in a ditch, Cheshire Police said.

The southbound carriageway has been closed from junction 18 at Holmes Chapel to junction 16 at Barthomley.

Cheshire Police are trying to establish the dead man's identity and contact his family.
