TV personality Justin Lee Collins has denied harassing a former girlfriend in Hertfordshire.

The Friday Night Project host, 37, pleaded not guilty to putting his ex-partner in "fear of violence" at St Albans Magistrates' Court earlier.

Mr Collins, of Kew, south-west London, asked for the matter to be committed to crown court and will stand trial in front of a jury.

He will appear at a committal hearing before magistrates on 17 February.

The comic, originally from Bristol, faces a charge that between 11 January and 11 July he caused his ex-girlfriend, Anna Larke, to fear violence would be used against her.

Mr Collins was granted bail during the hearing.
