The North East has a proud athletics heritage with household names like Brendan Foster and Steve Cram.

But now another name, Rob Sloan, has been added to the list.

Rob Sloan is no world champion or Olympic medallist - his notoriety stems from allegations that he jumped on a bus on the way to claiming third prize in the Kielder marathon.

Now the man who made national headlines for 'cheating' tells his own side of the story.

Inside Out North East and Cumbria can be seen on Monday, 12 December at 19:30 GMT on BBC One - and for seven days after on the iPlayer.
