UK food industry agrees voluntary illegal eggs ban
Supermarkets and food producers in the UK have reached a voluntary agreement to stop importing eggs from hens held in battery cages.

Farmers have spent millions of pounds removing the cages ahead of an EU-wide ban on battery hens coming into force in January. Thirteen out of 27 European nations have already said they will not comply with the ban.
The government said it was working on reaching an agreement.
