Roman coin hoard goes on display

Help

A hoard of Roman coins unearthed in Worcestershire has been put on display at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.

More than 3,800 coins were found in a clay pot at Bredon Hill, near Evesham, by metal detector enthusiasts Jethro Carpenter, 43, and Mark Gilmore, 47.

The county coroner has yet to declare the find as treasure.

Many of the coins date back to the 3rd Century and Mr Carpenter said he was surprised to have made such a significant find.
