Plymouth printing jobs at risk at Wyndeham Press Group

Staff at a Plymouth printing firm have been told 145 jobs could be at risk if the company closes its factory in August, the BBC has learnt.

Wyndeham Press Group Ltd said the restructuring of its business was partly down to the rising cost of raw materials.

Staff were told a 90-day consultation period would begin into the closure of the company's Plympton site.

It is believed it could transfer some work to its Roche premises in Cornwall.

Roy Kingston, Wyndeham Group's chief operating officer, said: "Wyndeham Plymouth has been making losses for many years."

Mr Kingston said the company had reviewed a range of options but had not found a solution to stop the factory losing money.

The BBC understands the Plympton base could shut on 22 August.
