Kate Middleton's dress designer was a 'brilliant pupil'
The Manchester-educated designer behind Kate Middleton's wedding dress was a "brilliant pupil with amazing creativity", her former teacher has said.
After weeks of speculation, it was revealed that Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen had designed the dress worn by the new Duchess of Cambridge.
Ms Burton was educated at Withington Girls' School in south Manchester.
Her former fine art tutor, Diane Connell, told the BBC she was thrilled for her former pupil.
