Leicester Sikh temple celebrates Vaisakhi festival

A Sikh temple in Leicester has been providing free food for thousands of visitors during the Vaisakhi festival.

Gurdwara Guru Tegh Bahadur, on East Park Road, is celebrating the annual event - one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar - marking harvest time in India and the establishment of Khalsa, the Sikh baptism ceremony.

Festivities continue on Sunday with a colourful procession from Holy Bones to the temple.

Paul Bradshaw reports.
