Counterfeit goods seized by police and trading standards officers across County Durham will be donated to vulnerable people.

A crackdown on the trading of fake computer equipment and designer clothes has been running with a quantity of goods confiscated.

They have teamed up with charity His Church to take the seized goods and distribute them to charities.

The two charities to benefit will be Depaul UK and Foundation UK.

Durham County Council fair trading manager Craig Hudson said they had not wanted to just destroy the goods.

The labels will be removed before they are handed out by His Church.

Mr Hudson said: "By joining forces with His Church charity, we can at least ensure that many vulnerable people will be a little more comfortable."
