Lydd airport inquiry begins taking evidence

Help

Plans to expand a Kent airport are being thrashed out as the inquiry into the development of Lydd's facilities gets under way in earnest.

If the scheme gets the go-ahead, the airport could handle up to 500,000 passengers a year. But, as BBC South East environment correspondent Yvette Austin reports, there are many arguments against it.

The inquiry inspector has now visited the site and has begun hearing the pro and anti viewpoints.
