Crematorium heat 'could warm pool'

Heat generated by a crematorium in Worcestershire could be used to warm an indoor swimming pool, a council has said.

Redditch Borough Council said heat loss from the town's crematorium would be a green way to heat Abbey Stadium pool.

Union Unison said the proposals "are sick and an insult to local residents".

However, Warwick District Council said it had been using a similar method to heat some buildings for about 15 years, saving about £15,000 a year of public money.
