Wind farm 'to create jobs for Liverpool over 20 years'

A £15bn wind farm in the Irish sea could create jobs for people in Liverpool over the next 20 years, Mark Basnett, of the Mersey Partnership has said.

There are proposals for a wind farm that would be twice the size of the Isle of Man to be created 43 miles (70km) off the coast of Liverpool.

Much of the construction work for 850 giant turbines and 28 substations would be carried out in and around the city, it is thought.
